National Focal Point (SALW) Destroys Arms

The NFP and Uganda police held a destruction of approximately 6438 assorted SALW at Bukasa range on 21st November, 2016. The weapons had been collected over a period of time from different regions of the Police and kept in store. The Minister of State for Internal Affairs in his statement mentioned that eliminating the tools of violence is the best way of ensuring human security to foster development.

The exercise was also witnessed by the Executive Director of the Regional Center on Small Arms, Mr. Theoneste Mutshyanyakia, The U S Embassy Defence Attache Mr Paul Husser, British Embassy defense attaché Mr. Mike Nicholes, members of civil society and other local leaders.
